The Pond-Deshpande Centre at the University of New Brunswick, through our Social Enterprise NB initiative, invites you to a learning session on social enterprise and how mission-driven business models can help address New Brunswick’s most pressing challenges.

Social enterprises generate revenue while advancing social, cultural, environmental, or community outcomes. This session will explore why the model is gaining momentum, how it is being applied across sectors, and the unique opportunities and constraints related to funding and financing in New Brunswick.

Session highlights:

  • What defines a social enterprise
  • Why the model matters now in NB’s economic context
  • Funding and financing realities in the province
  • The capital stack: grants, loans, community financing, procurement, and investment
  • Opportunities for collaboration and ecosystem support

We hope you will join us as we explore new ways to strengthen community-led solutions and shared prosperity.
