Youth Programs

Youth are a vital part of the region’s future workforce, and programs that build awareness of local industries and career opportunities are essential to supporting their success. Current initiatives include the IDEA Centre Moncton and Centre IDÉE, which offer high school students hands-on, project-based entrepreneurial learning experiences. Through mentorship, collaboration, and real-world challenges, students develop leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for a constantly evolving professional environment.

While these programs provide a strong foundation, the goal is to expand opportunities by developing new initiatives and building partnerships with other organizations that support youth engagement and workforce participation.

We are proud to collaborate with partners such as Skills Canada, Youth Impact, Youth Quest, CCNB, NBCC, Anglophone School District East, Place aux compétences, Centres of Excellence, District scolaire francophone Sud, Crandall University, Oulton College, Mount Allison University, and Université de Moncton.

IDEA Centre

The IDEA Centre is a dynamic learning space open to Grade 11 and 12 students from any high school in the Southeast region. Participants engage in hands-on, project-based entrepreneurial learning that empowers them to tackle real-world challenges while developing essential skills in critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving. Delivered through the Anglophone East School District, the program helps students take ownership of their learning and prepare for future opportunities.

Located at Hillcrest School in Moncton, the IDEA Centre provides access to expert mentorship, modern tools, and a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and personal growth. Students are supported in becoming well-equipped entrepreneurs, prepared to navigate a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

This unique setting promotes critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving beyond the traditional classroom experience. It empowers students to take ownership of their learning and pursue their passions. The IDEA Centre equips learners with the skills and mindset needed to succeed in today’s fast-changing economy.

Partners

The success of the IDEA Centre is made possible through collaboration with the Anglophone East School District and the Economic Development department of the Southeast RSC. As the primary partner, the Southeast RSC supports students in developing entrepreneurial skills that contribute to the economic vitality of the Southeast region.

Centre IDÉE

The Centre IDÉE is a dynamic creative hub where Grade 11 and 12 students from the Francophone South School District (DSFS) engage in hands-on, project-based entrepreneurial learning. These experiences allow students to earn academic credits while tackling real-world challenges in entrepreneurship.

Located in three participating high schools, students attend the Centre during their three afternoon periods in a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, personal growth, and professional development. With support from community partners such as the Southeast Regional Service Commission (CSRSE), students benefit from mentorship, modern technologies, and the expertise of local professionals.

This unique setting promotes critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving beyond the traditional classroom experience. It empowers students to take ownership of their learning and pursue their passions. The Centre IDÉE equips learners with the skills and mindset needed to succeed in a constantly evolving professional landscape.

The success of the program relies on collaboration between students and staff from the Francophone South School District (DSFS), supported by the expertise and financial backing of the Economic Development team at the Southeast Regional Service Commission (CSR Sud-est). Together, they foster an ecosystem where innovation and entrepreneurship thrive, transforming student ideas into tangible entrepreneurial projects.
